Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about going solar with SolarVolt.

Cost & Financing

How much does a solar system cost in Pakistan?
A typical residential system (10–15 kW) ranges from Rs. 15–30 lakh depending on panel brand and battery inclusion. Commercial systems vary by size. After government subsidies and net metering savings, most customers recover their investment within 3–5 years. We provide a detailed free quote with no obligation.
Is net metering available in Pakistan?
Yes. NEPRA's Net Metering Regulation allows you to sell surplus solar energy back to your DISCO (LESCO, KESC, IESCO, etc.) at a rate set by NEPRA. We handle the complete net metering application, DG set approval, and grid connection paperwork on your behalf.
How much will I save on my electricity bill?
Most SolarVolt customers see 70–100% reduction in WAPDA/KESC bills. Exact savings depend on your system size, energy consumption, tariff slab, and whether you have net metering. We model this precisely during your free consultation using your actual bill history.

Installation

How long does installation take?
Most residential installations are completed in 1–3 days. The full timeline from contract signing to system activation is typically 2–4 weeks, with most of that time spent on DISCO application, AEDB registration, and net metering paperwork — which we handle entirely.

Technology

Will solar work during load shedding?
A standard on-grid solar system will shut down during load shedding as a safety requirement. To maintain power during outages, you need a battery backup or hybrid inverter. We offer complete hybrid solar + battery packages specifically designed for Pakistan's load shedding environment.
How long do solar panels last?
Modern solar panels are rated for 25–30 years and often last longer. Our panels come with a 25-year performance warranty guaranteeing at least 80% of original output. Inverters typically last 8–12 years and carry separate warranties.
Which inverter brands do you install?
We install leading inverter brands including Huawei SUN2000, Solis, Growatt, Fronius, and SMA. For hybrid systems with battery backup, we recommend Huawei LUNA or Pylontech battery solutions. We recommend the best combination based on your budget and requirements.
